BUILDING HISTORY:

The Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multi-use facility capable of hosting from 3,500 to 10,000 people. Opened in 1979, the facility currently hosts events such as top rock, country and alternative rock shows; rodeos; ice shows; family shows; major sporting events; conventions; trade shows; and circuses. The PowerHouse is adjoined by the Doubletree by Hilton; an 800-car parking garage and is located near many restaurants. The facility is managed by VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids L.L.C, a privately held corporation formed in November 1996.

Alliant Energy PowerHouse - Approaching on I-380 Southbound; Take Exit 20B to First Avenue (HWY 151) and go (right) on First Avenue. The PowerHouse is located three blocks down on the north side of First Avenue.

Approaching on I-380 Northbound:

Loading Dock

Approaching on I-380 Southbound:

1. Take Exit 20B.

2. Head southwest on Exit 20B toward 8th St NE.

3. Turn left onto 7th St NE

4. Turn right onto 1st Ave NE

5. Turn right onto 2nd St NE

6. Take the 1st right onto A Ave NE

7. The loading docks will be on the right about a block up A avenue.

Approaching on I-380 Northbound:

1. Take Exit 19C

2. Head north on Exit 19C toward 1st St NW

3. Merge onto E Ave Bridge

4. Continue onto A Ave NE

5. The loading docks will be on the right about a block up A avenue after crossing the river
